How dark is too dark?

Sometimes D/s is interesting to play with, particularly in a menage situation, but there are times where psychological dominance is more effective than physiological dominance. Where is the line drawn? Completely and utterly controlled? Or retain a semblance of identity? Or fight back against the dominant character?

Name your menage

There are many ways to love. But which is your favorite?

Three-way love match with all partners sleeping together
A couple with another person in for the sex
A couple with another person who only loves one of them
Two hetrosexual men who don't sleep with each other but sleep with the same girl (at the same time)
Two hetrosexual women who don't sleep with each other but sleep with the same guy (at the same time)

Did I miss one? Which interests you more?

Which actors do you see as your characters?

As in picture in your mind, not play should the book ever become a movie or TV show. When you envision the character, do you use actors? Or just generic sketches?

Sarah Michelle Geller
Leonardo DiCaprio
Megan Fox
Brian Austen Green but only from Terminator the TV show
Mariska Hargitay
Clive Owens

OK this was harder than I expected, there are a lot of actors but when I think about it, not many I use for character features.

What about you? Current or past, it doesn't matter...who would you cast?

TV menages

Favorite shows where you just know there's a threesome waiting to happen. These are current shows...well and Buffy since I love it so much.

Buffy/Angel/Spike (Buffy)
Dano/McGarrett and an unnamed woman, possibly Dano's wife (Hawaii Five-O)
Ned Stark/Khaleesi/Khal Drago (Game of Thrones)
Deeks/Sam/and either Callen or Kensi (NCIS: Los Angeles)
Abbey/Zivz/Tony (NCIS)
Brennan/Booth/Brennan's boss, whatever her name is I can't think of it now (Bones)
Susan/Gabby/Brie (Desperate Housewives)

What are your favorites?

Sex in the historical

What's more fun than finding a way for the Regency lady to have an assignation? And more difficult. Jane Austen showed us that these girls all but have GPS devices embedded beneath their skin. So how does one solve the problem of losing the chaperon?

  • Feign a headache and sneak out the back
  • Involve a friend to cover for you
  • A little sleeping powder in the tea
  • Involve the chaperon in your plan

What do you think? What are some creative ways to lose the chaperon?

Paranormal vs 'regular'

Was looking through some TBR books and wondered if people enjoyed or were more willing to accept menages that were paranormal than not. Is there something about alien races and threesomes that make it hotter? Or a trio of various paranormal beings (vampires, witches, werewolves, etc) that make the story more acceptable?

I don't see it, I mean not that I don't enjoy reading those types of stories (I DO!) but I mean that I think people are more willing to read/accept a combination based on the story. But I'm curious, what do you think?

Summer Reading

In honor of the Summer Solstice and the longest day light hours of the year, I'm asking: What are you reading this year?

When it works...

It works!

I finally figured out what was wrong with my story, Seduction of a Proper Lady. It wasn't the story. It was me.

Whenever I first start a story, I try to know where I'm going. Makes writing it so much easier. This was no exception, but it took me longer to know the characters. Sure, I knew what they were going to say and when and what the scene was all about. But knowing them proved harder this time around.

In Wickedly Wanton, I jumped in with sex, sexual teasing, and sexual talk. Seduction has more of a Regency feel to it than an erotic. Well...at least in the beginning. No worries on that!

New review

This one is from Risque Reviews, who wanted more...Yes. Wickedly Wanton was my first full length. I'm learning, and with this constructive criticism I hope Seduction of a Proper Lady is stronger.

Rating: 3 Stars
Heat Level: 2 - Wild as a Naked Game of Twister (F/F – F/M/F)
The writing in this book is great, however.  Kristabel Reed has a great style and kept the pace of the book flowing briskly; I really felt that I could “see” a lot of the scenes as they were taking place. There is a lot of action taking place so the reader never has a chance to get bored.  The sex scenes are well written and well thought out. I especially enjoy the first sex scene with three together; it was inventive, sexy and fun.

Grilling Chicken Tikka Masala

Where would you go?

Money being no option, and you have to go in the next few weeks, where would it be? Spa? Beach? Hiking? Sightseeing?

I suppose my ideal vacation would be a month long one involving all of the above.

I ask, not becuase money isn't an option, or that I'm going anywhere, but I desperately need a vacation. And I'm sure you all do, too!

Slacking

I didn't mean to slack on the post writing. I'd been doing so good with it! But then suddenly it's June and time once again got away from me.

I'm dilligantly working on Seduction of a Proper Lady, the second in my unconnected Regency Ménage Tales. I've decided to maybe 'connect' them with comments-Lord X is here, or Lady Y is asking for you type of thing. This way there's a link between them and I don't feel silly for calling it a series.

Actors as inspiration

Face it...we all do it! Who would you pick?

Jason Momoa as (anyone really)

OR

Chris Hemsworth as Thor?
