Hot Summer Romance Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Summer Romance Giveaway! Don't forget to enter the grand prize drawing via the Rafflecopter link below (Kindle Fire and a $50 Amazon.com gift certificate). I'll award a $25 Amazon or Barnes and Noble gift card to a random commenter. You can enter through July 21 at 11:59 p.m. so don't dawdle!

The topic? Love of course! And now I have Love is in the air running through my head. (As sung by Colin Firth and Rupert Everett--if you've never seen St. Trinian's, then you're missing something!)

So let's talk romance. What draws you to characters? When I read a romance, I know they're going to get together! (They damn well better!) But what draws the characters together? It's one of my favorite parts of writing: Figuring out what makes people fall in love. Opposites, similarities, old friends, old enemies.

In my opinion, love is indefinable. It's that intangible thread that weaves its way around people to draw them together even when there might not be an obvious reason why they love each other.

For instance, what brings a menage together? How do three people fall in love with each other?

Philip Thornton adored his new bride but found she was frigid in their marriage bed.

Lillian did not know how to ease her fear of the bed until she was freed from her past.

Aria was paid to educate and entice, but what she found was more than she ever dreamed possible.

The Parisian Exposition of 1889...the world is changing and the three of them are caught in its whirl. Philip and Lillian went to Paris to save their marriage and to help Lillian overcome her fears. Aria danced and seduced Lillian, but before Lillian left, Aria found herself seduced, in turn, by the beautiful Englishwoman.

When Philip and Lillian break all the rules and escort Aria around Paris for a week, will it be the beginning of their future? Or will this seductive interlude be nothing more than a dream?

Leave a comment about the funniest, sweetest, most heart-melting, truly adorable, or most memorable loveable moment and you'll be entered!
And it doesn't have to be a romantic moment, love is love. Brotherly love (even when he tosses you into the pool, fully clothed, in front of all your friends); children love (like when they clean off the bottom of their sneakers when you gave them that wipe to clean their hands!) and pet love (even when the puppy eats too many rawhide pieces and has a tummy ache).

  1. I'm going with the most recent. My husband has the hardest time finding my gifts. He always wants me to just go buy what I like. For Valentine's day he came in with a bottle of my favorite Gordiva Chocolate Vodka. He was so proud of himself. It was cute.

I said yea rt I know you & you do not do "roses" then he pulled out from behind his back an ugly little twig that was a rose start....I planted it & it is a beautiful rose plant now :)

  11. My boyfriend and I travel a lot and he is extremely anal. I pack all my computer equipment in my suitcase when we travel and it drives him crazy. So he thought he was being cute with my b-day present. He has this backpack that he payed like 110 dollars for that has a compartment for everything(tablet..computer...connections...phone..everything), so he bought me one. He hands me this book bag to put in the car when he came to see me and I asked him what? You can't put your back pack in the car by yourself anymore? He said oh yeah...I would...if it was mine!! Happy Birthday!! I looked at him and busted out laughing...I laughed so hard I hurt his feelings. No one has ever bought me a back pack before and while it wasn't a traditional gift? It will always be the most memorable!! I love him truly, even with all his anal ways!!

  24. I am not really sure from a personal moment (I just have a blank mind, which is usual) however there was recently a story on TV with an older couple who celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary. They were such an adorable couple with a huge family around them and they were still so funny and smacking each other playfully and making jokes. The images shown were the two of them as children (showing how they were always "meant to be" and they knew it) and they progressed through the years, ending with their family standing behind them. It was just too sweet and I think that was the sweetest most loveable, romantic, made me cry moment even though it didn't happen to me that I've ever seen.

Thank you for the chance to enter the giveaway and I hope everyone has a super summer!

  25. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Love and I agree with you Love is the most intangible, special thing in the world. My most memorable, cute & funny love moment was when I was with my boyfriend and we went to the local pool, He told me to catch him, I reached out to get him and somehow we both ended up in the pool. Thanks for sharing the awesome giveaways. evamillien at gmail dot com

But, it was so sweet to see how nervous he was when he finally got down on one knee and popped the question :) Thank you so much for being a part of this hop and for giving me the opportunity to win!

  30. The children in my life are the sweetest; my son, daughter and god-daughter. They are always doing little things that most people would take for granted but let me know how much they love me. My son (13) always hugs me, my daughter (17) shares all her likes with me and my god-child (7) ignores everyone else to tell me all about the little things that have happened. They constantly remind me that love is so much more.

  31. The most romantic moment in my life was with a love I had...our first date we truly connected. We had a romantic dinner by candlelight and talked for hours. He kissed me passionately (and kissed me...) at the door and left for his more than one hour drive to his home. I went inside to go to bed. When I got up to go to work the next day, I found flowers in front of my door. He had driven the whole hour home, awakened a florist friend of his, bought me beautiful roses in a vase, drove the hour back to my house to quietly leave them on my doorway, never expecting anything in return. I was hooked. It was love, love, love. michelle_willms@yahoo.com

  32. A few weeks ago, my husband shared a story about his grandfather that involved bending a spoon to fit around a bowl so that it wouldn't slip into his cereal when he would spend the weekends with his grandparents. Shortly after sharing that story, he went with some buddies of his to a beer fest that was held downtown in our town. While there he found a small shop that had handmade jewelry. He bought me a ring that was made from a spoon. It means so much to me that he got that spoon ring as we had discussed that story and how we want to be the kind of grandparents he had growing up.
