Hello? Anyone here?

So it's been a while! According to blogger, it's been nearly 4 months since I last posted here. Life has been a little (read: very much so) crazed and blogging has been the easiest thing to let fall by the wayside even after I managed to get everything in working order again.

Hello!

I admit to missing my blog and looking at it now, I have a lot of updates to do. I'll work on them slowly so I don't use up all my blogging energy at once.

In writing news: I've finished 2 more Scandalous Encounters stories, Improper Duke and Improper Wedding. Both are being edited now; I'll post when they're available. I hope to have Improper Duke ready by the end of April

Trust me, it won't be another 4 months!

Up next on the writing docket is 3 more Curvy books! Writing those now and enjoying the setting, a farming community in the San Joaquin Valley.

Wednesday Curves: Christmas Curvy

They're finally playing Christmas music on the radio! I love Christmas music. I know people don't, but it's some of my favorite music ever. I also love reading Christmas stories as well. Not so much the feel good stories, but romance that take place during Christmas. With snow and songs and decorations.

Laura Dixon doesn't leap. She planned her life and career the way she wanted them to go. And does her best to ignore her family's advice on how to lose weight and catch a man. Mount Noel is her first major project with Gideon International Hotels and the Christmas themed hotel fits her perfectly, after all Christmas was her favorite holiday!

Maybe it was the ice skating or the Christmas music, or possibly the hot chocolate, that finally made her say yes when smart, handsome, and totally out of her league Tyler Kamari asked her out. Whatever it was, it was the right recipe for the holidays! Their entire time is a fantasy for her, a fantasy that makes crazy ideas sound perfectly reasonable. But when they leap ahead into something more than a fantasy can Laura accept that it was more?

This is a 38,000 word m/f story with explicit sex scenes, copious amounts of holiday cheer, and a curvy girl’s Christmas to remember.

New #CurvyGirl reviews--thank you!

4 stars for Countess Curvy
The author does a good job of describing Audrey's motivations and why she gave into a really bad case of nerves and fled back to her home...I also liked the fact he was willing to move for her! Why should the woman always move?
From an Amazon reviewer.

5 stars for Boss Likes Curves
Sabrina is a smart successful business woman without a personal life. The did a great writing what Sabrina was thinking and why she freaked out on her office romance. How many people witness office romance go bad?
From an Amazon reviewer.

5 stars for Curvy's Cad
What happens when someone you mentally placed in the "friend" category wants more? Gulp! Kristabel Reed did a very good job of writing this novel. She explored the contradicting emotions and insecurities of Eliza as she starts a relationship with her buddy, Craig.
From an Amazon reviewer.

Wednesday Curves: Curvy Girls in print

I've had some trouble with Createspace and the formatting. Really, Createspace didn't like my cover, which I happen to think is lovely! Then they didn't like something in the file itself.

And I get it, I do--they want a clean experience for the reader. I do, too! I want you to be able to read my stories without formatting problems.

So the end of March release (clearly) didn't happen and I'm sorry for not jumping on here sooner to share that. I hope to have everything finalized within the next week. I'll post again when the link is live.

Wednesday Curves: Princess Curvy

This Curvy Girls story is different than the previous four in the series. Princess Curvy has a bit of suspense. Adam is following a lead and Natalia gets caught up in it.I really enjoyed writing the suspense angle here, it's different from what I've written but lighter than most romantic suspense stories I've read.

I hope you enjoy Princess Curvy: A Curvy Girl's Italian Affair!

Natalia Dolcini had dusted off an old Italian title to launch her fashion line—Princapessa Natalia for curvy women. A line that made women look sexy, young, and gorgeous. And she loved every minute creating it. She led a charmed life in Milan and knew it.

Until Adam Clayworth waltzed into her life. Infuriatingly handsome, the sexy banker had an old-fashioned charm to him Natalia found hard to resist. So she didn’t. When he asked her for an introduction, she was more than happy to comply—only for it to end in shouts and accusations. Her temper got the best of her when she promptly threw Adam out of her house.

What she hadn’t expected was for that night to bring her into a banking intrigue Adam investigated. Or for Adam to become her lover. But then Adam’s investigation turns dangerous.

Natalia finds it difficult to keep her own heart safe as they race from Milan to Portofino and back again. Will their Italian affair end after the danger does? Or will it be an affair to remember?

Interview with Sarah Gai for The Curvies @sarahgaicurvy

So today I have the fabulous Sarah Gai here talking about The Curvies Series. Sarah was here in November but today she's been kind enough to answer some of my questions!

Sarah Gai is the author of The Curvies series. Living in Victoria Australia. As a devoted wife and mother of three, when Sarah is not writing she will be found reading in a quiet corner somewhere or out for coffee with her own real life Curvies. Being a busy mum she was always trying to find a quick and fun read to squeeze in and that is when the idea for the three novella set sparked into her mind. Wanting to write for all the women out there who want a good short read about strong friendships, romance and body positive, love the skin you're in kind of fiction.Website

What is your story's heat level? How do you approach the sex scenes?
The heat level is light. I really wanted to focus on the anticipation side of a relationship, the moments when butterflies in the stomach are all that exist.

How do you maintain activity as a writer when sitting at a desk all day?
I dont even own a desk. With three toddlers there isnt a lot of time for me to stop. Running around all day i live with ideas knocking around, so i carry my iPad with me everywhere and whenever i have five minutes i quickly type an idea or a chapter. its not easy but its how i work and it works for me at this stage in my life.

What is it that you loved about the main characters in your story?
I wrote Elise based on one of my own Curvy girls. Although she can be a little grumpy, a little protective and largely defensive at the end of it all you can see how much she loves her best friends. As for Charlie I love that after a decade he still couldnt get over his high school sweetheart and after kicking his pride to the curb, went for it. Helps that in my minds eye hes completely delicious.

What do you feel is your strongest type of writing? Humor? Angst? Confrontation scenes? Action? Sex? Sensuality? Sweet Romance? And why?
Hmm, I think one of my strongest points would be writing the friendship type relationship. Coming from a small family i grew up making and keeping a lot of very close friends and turned them into my own unique kind of family. Writing things that are close to my heart is important and despite unique differences and flaws amongst those closest to you. Frienship is something i put a lot of time into maintaining, so that is why i would pick friendship

Are you social media savvy? If so what do you suggest for others? If not, why not?
I wouldnt say im savvy but i do like to check my Facebook and twitter on a daily basis. i would suggest responding to your readers they are so precious and the greatest motivators when it comes to writing.

What are some things from your life or things you have observed that you've infused into your stories?
Apart from friendship i would have to go with fun. I really love to goof around with my friends and try not to take everything in life so seriously. i tried to bring the lighter side to friendship and fun through my book and show the readers that you're never to old to have silly moments and laugh about it.

If you had an unlimited budget, where would you like to visit for story-related research?
Thats tough but if i could pick anywhere to visit it would be Ireland.

Finally, tell us a little about your newest release!

Read an excerpt:
“There’s a man in the retail shop asking if you’re available.” Violet set a drink in front of her. “He’s tall and handsome,” she added with a wink. “And if you don’t want him…”

Natalia frowned and sipped her iced coffee. “What’s his name?”
“Oh.” Violet smiled. “Mr. Clayworth. And he speaks proper English!”
She already knew that; she’d spent considerable time with him last evening. No, not as much as she wanted, but that man’s voice was deep and rich as sin and did all sorts of things to her insides.
“Send him up,” she said instead.
Half expecting Violet to accompany him back into the showroom, Natalia was surprised to see Adam walk in alone. Dressed in a charcoal gray suit instead of the black tie from last night, she was pleased to see he looked just as delicious in a suit as a tuxedo. The blue shirt against his dark hair and eyes did things to her.
“I truly never expected to lay eyes on you again,” she admitted. Standing from her desk, she debated crossing the room and shaking his hand. After that kiss? A simple handshake wasn’t going to happen.
Instead she leaned her hip against her desk and rested her hands behind her. The lavender pencil skirt hugged her curves perfectly, if she did say so herself, and the heels lent her just the right height to lean comfortably against the desk. The cream-colored top, chiffon over a tank top, hung off one shoulder and naturally drew the eye to her generous breasts.
Natalia was pleased to see Adam was not immune.
“I hope it’s not an unpleasant, or unwelcomed, surprise,” he said and stepped farther into the room. “After all,” he continued, his stance casual as he shifted on his heels, “you did leave Milan memorable.”
A tingle of pleasure started low in her belly and spread warmly through her. Keeping her voice professional, Natalia raised an eyebrow. “How can I help you, Mr. Clayworth?”
“While I’d love to say I’m here only to see you and ask you to lunch,” he said then added, “which I am. I’m also here to ask a favor.”

Excerpt from Christmas Curvy: A Curvy Girl's Holiday Fling

Laura ran up to her room to get her coat with the promise of meeting Kamari at the ice skating rink in ten minutes. As she waited for the elevator to climb to the executive suites, Laura wondered if Kamari’s rooms were also on the same floor.
She refused to think about the small, very slight, flip her stomach did and resolutely ignored it. Because this was all business. And since when was she interested in him? All right, that was the wrong question.
It wasn’t a matter of being interested or finding him attractive or even of wanting to know him better. She did find him attractive—she had eyes attached to her brain, after all, and Tyler Kamari was a very handsome man with a brilliant mind. It was a matter of not doing any of the above because it was a supremely bad idea. Period. End of story.
Quickly keying her door open, Laura grabbed her heavy black wool coat with a black faux fur trim. She double checked that her gloves were still in the pockets before leaving. Part of her wanted to take more time, to manufacture an excuse to leave Kamari waiting. Not out of some warped sense of letting the man wait, but because she had inexplicable butterflies in her stomach.
Which was ridiculous, of course, because their relationship was strictly business. No matter how attractive she found him, theirs wasn’t that sort of relationship. She didn’t need messy in her life. She liked the orderly path she’d laid out for herself.
And if she wanted a date…well… Laura frowned as the elevator doors closed behind her and began their descent to the lobby. She stared at herself in the shiny doors. Best not to think about dates. Or lack thereof.
