@ReadingRomances #HappyEndings Day 4 What comes next?

What comes after the Happily Ever After? Do you want to know more? I've always been curious--what happens to our intrepid couple after they find their happy ending?

A series for instance. Couple meets in Book 1, true love, happy ending, cue curtain. But what if there's a Book 2? What if the couple reappears in a second book, do you want to know the minutia of their everyday life? Or has their tale run its course?

Then there are the stories that start after the Happily Ever After. What happens to a favorite story when the couple is separate or broken up? Is their journey back together just as satisfying as their first tale? Or is it too much of the You should have figured this out by now!?

What's your take on that?

  1. I've never been tricked like that. If I'm craving a happy ending, I make sure to read a sweet romance, instead of something darker, that way I'll definitely get my happy ending :)

  2. I love series where the couples make return visits. One of my favorites is the Rough Riders series from Lorelei James. Another is from Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon, The Compass Brothers series. I like to see how the couples fair in the long run.

  3. All the books I read have their HEA unless it's an ongoing series.
    Stephanie Laurens Cynster Family books always have previous couples and characters reappearing. I love reading about them again. It's sort of like old friends catching up.

  4. I have been deceived by a cover or two into thinking I was going to get a HEA.
